Got an update! Almost 5 months to the day I placed my order for 4 additional Tama Starclassic Maple drums in Piano Black, two of the 4 drums showed up at my door today. I got my 15x18 floor tom and 14x20 gong bass drum. I have two more toms on the way that should be here any day now, a 7x8 tom and 9x13 tom. Pics of my whole kit will be forthcoming when the last two toms get here.

Tama Starclassic Maple in Piano Black Lacquer:8x7,10x8,12x8,13x9 Toms,16x14,18x15 Floor Toms,18x20 Bass Drum,14x20 Gong Bass Drum, Complete Set of Octobans.
Tama Starclassic Performer 100% Birch in Red Sparkle Fade: 7x8,8x10,9x12 toms, 12x14,14x16 Floor Toms, 18x22 Bass Drum,6.5x14 Matching Birch Snare, 14x20 matching Gong Bass Drum.
178 Drums less than my hero, Gongbass. :)

Congrats! Worst I ever had to wait was about three months. I think I would be gnawing sticks at 5. Post the pics when you are set up. I am curious to see how you fit your cymbals in. Happy

I am just waiting on the last 2 toms to come in from Japan and then I will take some pics of the full kit. My guy at Interstate Music told me 5 months and he was right on the mark by a few days so I was prepared for the wait. I am starting to chomp at the bit for the last 2 toms now that the first got here. Funny thing was the 2 drums I just got were ordered 2 weeks after I ordered the smaller toms.

I noticed that also. Probably has to do with the shell bending of the smaller toms.

I can see that being a reason why it would take longer. Smaller shell production does seem to be a more involved process when you watch those videos on YouTube showing some of the big drum manufacturers making shells.

My last update! My last two Piano Black Toms were just delivered yesterday. It took almost 6 months to get the 8x7 and 13x9 but it was well worth it! The Piano Black Lacquer is an exact match to the shell pack I bought initially. I guess it's hard to mess up black but Tama did an excellent job on my order. Pics are soon to follow now that the whole kit is finally here.

Patience, Patience, my friend. I had to buy a Gibraltar Drum Rack to fit everything due to limited space in my drum room. The last pieces of my rack arrive this week and then I can FINALLY set up my Tama Starclassic Maple Kit. It's a monster at 9 pieces! Pics will be posted this week!

You have my word that pics will come shortly. The rest of my rack arrives today. I have to run out and buy about 10 more gibraltar clamps...that's where they get you in the pocket book is buying the clamps at $28 a pop. When the rack parts get here, I'll start assembling and setting up for pics.....and some jamming!Clap

I guess I will be getting on the waiting line too. Here is some pics of my SC Maples in Piano Black with the Focus rings on all of them. 10x10, 11x12, 12x13, 16x16, 18x24(x2) 14x20 gong bass, high pitch set of 4 octos and maple warlord snare. I need to add an 8x8 where you can see the empty space between the octos and the 10, and a 15x15 floor so I can move the 16 under the gong bass and have the setup the way I like it. After reading these stories about how long to get them, in one case 5-6 months? WOW! I am not looking forward to the wait. I dont think I will have a problem playing them the way they are now, so it wont be that big a deal. Anyone know the best place to order the add ons from? Please let me know before I pull the trigger. Some before pics and my just finished restored Grannies:
