Still looking, eh? That's a tough one. Keep an eye on eBay, and especially Kijiji. There is a 7-piece in Toronto that includes the 8" for $750, Maybe he would part.

I know the picture looks brown, but the grain is not Brazilian, so maybe it's just the lighting and it is a Wine Red kit. There was also another big kit recently on Montreal Kijiji, it was a big double bass kit advertised as a "Neil Peart" kit for $1200, I believe it also had an 8".

I still have my fake "clone" made by Vaudou drims, but it cost me more than the real thing did! :)

I agree, thanks for the catalog link. I had forgotten about the Royal Mahogany. That is a RARE finish!!! The catalog also answered another question I had for a long time - the 2 Shina plies are outside. I had read that they used one outer, one inner, but the inner ply on mine really looks liek mahogany.
