I am looking to hand down my old Royal Star set to my son. Problem I have is a few of the lugs need replacing. Looking online, there is no hardware listed for the Royal Star. Will the Imperial Star hardware fit?

I believe the lug screw spacing is the same, so it should work. If I remember correctly, the size of the 2 screws used to fasten the lug to the shell (not the tension rods) is bigger on the ImperialStar/SuperStar lugs, so if you have any screws leftover from the RoyalStar lugs, they probably won't fit the ImperialStar lugs.
What kind of lugs are they and how many do you need? I assume these are the triangular (Ludwig-like) style and not the triple-tier staircase (post-83) lugs? These are the same as used on most 81-83 Swingstars, and the are fairly common on Ebay. Just make sure the seller shows the underside of the lugs so you cna check that the posts with the thread are not broken off, a common problem with these lugs.
