Trail and error... It's how i got my heads to the sound that suite me without tape. It may be a case of puttin up with it cos i remember having overtones on my drums and i didn't really like it at first but then it grew on me. You'll hardly hear it if you're with a band, and you can EQ it anyway if you're recording.
yea thats true about the band thing, theyre 2 ply g2's i went to GC today and the guy helped me alot. thanks to you guys too

sounds pretty good ~ but mic'ing and recording a drum really has nothing todo with what it sounds like in person. if that were the case there would be no reason to spend $5k on a Bubinga kit

Can anyone tell me exactly what year/model this Rockstar is?

In case anyones wondering, this is Christoph Schneider of Rammstein and the pic was taken in '98.

That looks more like a mid-90's Artstar Custom with Die-Cast hoops and the star-cast system. It wasn't uncommon for endorsees to have an Artstar with the Star-cast system. Plus those are artstar badges, so I'm goin with an Artstar Custom.

yes it can't be a rockstar because rockstar/stagestar/swingstar badges are round/egg shaped.

My 2003 Rockstar custom

Good setup! It's very practical and not cluttered. Playing on that would allow uninhibited movement!
i like everything but the sticker on the bass head...

and you should really look into selling some of those guitars.. do you have one for like each day of the month
Dude, don't dis the guitars!

If he ever gets bored of them, though, he should sell them to me!
