BUT, B/B drums from Japan sound intriguing, but pricey of course (which is why production went to China)

Yeah some of us had our share of issues. But the thing I won't forget is as follows: Drumset was made in 2011, a replacement tom was made in 2012 and an add-on was made in 2013. Just by feeling the inside of the shell, touching the bearing edges and inspecting the chrome parts you get and idea of what is going on with the quality.

But still, I like the drums (sound and design) and in my mind I justify it all with the fact that the drums weren't all that expensive. Happy Would I buy Chinese made Starclassics again? Probably yes, but before buying I would take them apart completely and inspect the most troublesome aspects (roundnes, bearing edges, chrome parts, finish...). + I'd choose a simplest possible finish.
It's like a sauna in here.

My Tama gear:
Tama Stewart Copeland signature - SC145 chrome over brass snare drum.
Roadpro hardware, Iron Cobra hi hat stand, Multi Clamps, etc.
Tama 1st throne

I said what?
Goes to show that you should not drink a lot of coffee than come home and type gibberish.
But always wake roadie up and play "trucks" till the wee hours of the morning.Like he said to the cleaning lady, "its friday I don't have school tomorrow so chill".

It's hard to translate Shintarou's comments when filled with coffee but here's the just of it..
He said that his friends are going through similar discussions about Yamah, Pearl, DW and Canopus. He went on to add that we. (USA) at first hated Tama because they were made in Japan. But now we question about China?

He said he still has the Rock star (deep shells) kit and nothing compares and that that is his opinion.

He went on to ask me .. Why did I get a Star classic after the Imperialstars then special order 5 more pieces to the kit If I was so concerned about where they were made?
