I just got an SDP-SX sample pad myself. Still fooling around with it to see what kinds of things I can do with it. What kind of samples do you have for it? What you you use it for most often?
How many drummers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Five: one to screw in the light bulb and 4 to talk about how much better Mike Portnoy could have done it XD

It was a surprise gift from one of my kids and at first I simply played along with the preset sequences, like this: https://youtu.be/cAstPalgcss

Then the band I was in wanted horn blasts, tambourine, etc., so I offered to integrate the unit into our music. It worked out well when the FOH sound knew how to balance it with live sound. I use PreSonus Studio One to generate .wav files for the sampler either from a library or from sounds I record.

Since the band broke up (guitarist went back to college) I've been trying to write long sequences to play along to, and that's where the rabbit hole began. Loading samples into the device is easy. Writing EDM music for use with the sampler takes time. I've only done a few. This one is one of my faves: https://youtu.be/S-LhN9dECmk. (No video 'cuz I'm lazy).
