A very interesting photo can be found on Simon Phillips' website:



If you look closely, you'll see that a black straight metal piece is bolted on the starcast and the mic holder is clamped on it. And if you look even more, you'll see the starcast logo on it.

So is this a genuine Tama accessory designed to remedy the clip-on mic problem that everybody has with the new style starcast, or did Simon had it made specially for him? And if it's Tama, is it officially out, or SP is still beta-testing it now?

I've never ever seen these in any official catalog, and yesterday I spent an hour digging in the new 2011 PDF taken from this very site.

After checking out the very few places that actually list this item and as that all of them tend to sell it at list price, I decided to go the other route. A quick visit to a friend with a metal workshop followed by powder coating and now I have six of these:

just looking at the picture of simons clip-on mic adapter , i notice there is a memory clamp on the BOOM ARM for the cymbal can that be bought ??? and if so whats the part number :) i dont mean the memory clamp on top of the mc61 clamp , ta

The number is ML12 and it's available everywhere. I have like 12 of them. :)
