Omnitune lugs and PAT30

So back in the 80's and 90's Tama had a lug on some of their premium snare drums (like the One Piece Maple for example) that was called the PAT30. It was a Gladstone style lug whose operation is the same as the ones used on the Bubinga Omnitunes. The key is the same and the principal is the same. Questions is : are the the guts the same? Can a damaged PAT30 be potentially fixed by cannibalizing an Omnitune lug?

I see on the Parts site that the whole lug is available for purchase, in all the different lengths, but none of the component parts.
