I'm thinking of expanding my Sky Blue Sparkle kit. I assume any sort of 10" tom or 16" floor tom will have a 120-150 day wait?

These will have to be special order. You're spot on with the lead time.

Are these only available in the listed sizes? I'd like to try and get an 8 and 10" in sizes closer to the 12" of my jazz size kit.

You could go with a 10" as well.

THe price guide here should help a bit to let you know what is available for order:

I guess the question should be, since the hyperdrives are available in the same shells on the Superstar, would Tama do a silverstar drum in the hyperdrive sizes? If not, I'll go with the regulars, just seeing what my options are :)

No hyperdrive sizes unfortunately.

Not yet anyway. Hopefully we can get something like that set up. I like your thinking.

Get on that, would ya? Drool

I figured it would be possible since they're the same exact shells, just different finishes and hardware.

If Tama wants to do some prototypes, let me know. I'll happily be a guinea pig.

Just as a follow up, I actually posed the "hyperdrive sizes" question to my local music store. They contacted their Tama rep and he did not say no, which I'm told they will do without even thinking on some questions. They're waiting for an answer back from the factory overseas.

So, it's at least POSSIBLE that it's possible :)

Officially got the no.
Boo. :(

I'll have to go regular sizes then.

By the way, someone had emailed me some info about their kit. If you're reading this, please email me again.

Bummer!

Although calling it an "official" no only shows how much faith you have in me. And how seriously you take me.

WallWall

I'll keep you posted if we make any changes on this though.

Sorry about that one man. One fine day...

Nothing against you. They were waiting to hear back from overseas. I thought maybe they could persuade them with the power of the mind.

Have you saw my signature and avatar?

That's the face of persuasion. No jedi-mind tricks necessary.

Well it's the face that's persuaded me to consider my add on options. I've been thinking of picking up a metro jam kit and drilling in floor tom feet onto the 16" BD.

Any chance there's some Silverstar sky blue drums waiting for a new owner in the warehouses? :)
