Hey everyone! I'm new here, so i apologize if my questions are not in the right topic or forum. But my question is, I'm trying to get my snare drum to really pop, and it came with the Superstar HyperDrive kit. So i'm not really sure what the snare is called exactly. I'm trying to get my snare to sound like the link below. Do you think the batter is tight, and resonant loose in the video...or vise versa? Also...is that a 10" tom by his snare, or do you think it's a "12? I can't really tell from the video. Good Solo Though! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbTXtSlg0AM
Thank you in advance!

Have you try changing your skins? I have the hyper-drive kit and could not get the snare to sound the way I wanted to with out changing the skins. I went with Evans HD-dry on the top and Hazy 300 on the botoom. I have the top a little looser then the bottom, not much though.

Yes I have. Well, one of them. My resonant head is factory, but I just put on a new Evans hydrolic black head for the batter. Not sure how to get it to "pop" with the hydrolic head though.
