Hello fellow drummers,I just received my jelly bean kit yesterday a Starclassic B/B I wanted to get a practice kit so I bought this 10,12,14,16 rack toms and a 24x18 bass drum to start with soon to have 13,15,rack toms and another 24x18 bass drum and a matching Gong drum. As you can see from the pictures I started striping the kit to receive the veneer Karelian Birch and also finished the inside of the drum to match the Bubinga Elites and I am making up my own vent hole plugs NO METAL AIR VENTS GORSE! Hand so these are the pictures so far as I complete a drum I will post pictures so stay tune! this will take awhile.

Thank you guy's there are looking good so far I noticed there are pits in the burl like you see in Mappa burl so now I know why they Lacquer this kind of veneer in satin and not gloss. I will leave them like they are I think the pits look good more natural I am not looking for perfection just a good job. Dance

Wow tinker, those look great! Question for you: I've refinished a number of kits, but always just removing wraps, sanding, staining, lacquering. Where do you get the veneer? I know you can get them at hardware stores but the sheets tend to be too small and the wood types unappealing. I would love to get ahold of a mappa burl veneer or quilted finish of some kind.
