Looking for some help guys...

I've bitten off a fair chunk in trying to write the 'Identifying yer Starclassic' threads, which is something that I am happy to do. I'm committed to finishing them off. For the most part it is just a collation of what is contained in the catalogues, and in reality, anyone who was looking for the info contained in them could work it out for themselves, given time and patience. I have both of those, and I like knowing for my own edification, so if I write the articles, those pressed for time can find out what the want to know quickly.

Problem is that there are a bunch of uncatalogued Limited Editions that no amount of catalogue surfing will find. I know about (I think...) most of them, but there is bound to be holes in my knowledge base...I don't pretend to know it all. So I'm going to list all the LE and otherwise uncatalogued Starclassics that can think of. Not so much endorser one offs...just ones that were available for customer purchase. If you know of any others, and especially if you have copies of adverts or not-online catalogues to verify them, please let me know. Articles like the 'Identifying' ones are of no use if they are not accurate, so if you know what I don't, I'm all ears Happy So here goes...

1995 - Gold hardware announced as available for a limited time. Prior to the 1997 catalogue that announced gold a new catalogue option, gold was a supposed Limited Edition and drums with it were badged with 'Back To The Basics' decals instead of 'Maple Shell' ones.

Circa 1998 - I'm very sketchy on this one. I've seen pics on the net of a maple shelled kit with a figured maple outer veneer and the abalone inlay that is supposed to be from 98, and was mention of it perhaps being a Japan only kit. 'A Division Of Tama Drums' decals and brushed nickel hardware. Gold Sunburst but darker type of finish. Forum member drummin_man posted pics of his one in the Exotix thread back in 2007, and mentions that it had a COA from Hoshino saying it was one of five kits produced. Can anyone shed any light on this kit?

2001 - Exotix I, maple with chestnut outer veneer, Sierra Gold Burst finish.

2002 - Exotix II, bubinga with koa outer veneer, natural koa finish.

2003 - Exotix III 'Midnight Storm', bubinga with quited African sapelle outer veneer.

2003-04 - Maple EFX kits, Red Silk, Blue Silk, Silver Silk, Black Silk finishes.

2004 - Exotix IV 'Volcanic Fire', bubinga with quilted bubinga outer veneer.

2005 - Exotix V 'Red Viking', bubinga with Scandinavian birch outer veneer.

2005 - Maple Reserve, maple with curly maple outer veneer, aquamarine sunburst 'Mediterranean Sea Blue' finish.

2006 - Exotix VI 'Hawaiian Thunder', bubinga with koa outer veneer, natural koa finish.

2007 - Warlord 'Masai' Exotix, bubinga with quilted bubinga outer veneer, 'African Twilight' finish.

2007 - Performer Birch in finishes with sparkle stripes...I now very little about these ones so any info appreciated...

2008 - Bubinga Reserve, bubinga with walnut outer veneer, 'Smoky Walnut' finish.

2008 - Stewart Copeland signature kit, Starclassic Maple in special 'Police Blue Sparkle' finish.

2009 - Warlord 'Spartan' Exotix, Stainless Steel drumset.

2010 - Simon Phillips 30 Anniversary Kit, maple/bubinga/maple.

2010 - Star Class dealer Limited Edition, bubinga with koa outer veneer, satin koa finish.

2011 - Bubinga Reserve in 'Marbled Green Metallic' and 'Marbled Purple Metallic'

2011 - Performer B/B in 'Indigo Blue Burst' with gravure outer veneer.

2012 - Starclassic Select 100% Walnut in 'Satin Walnut' finish

2012 - Performer B/B Black Oyster Lacquer

I've also got a pic on my hard drive that looks like a maple with quilted maple veneer, no inlay, badges most likely say 'Back To The Basics', but may say 'Maple Shell', old Starcasts, chrome hardware, close to Gold Sunburt finish...I know nothing about this one either.

There are also a few finishes, like 'Chameleon' I think, and a couple of other uncatalogued ones...any info on these would also be apprecaited. I seem to recall that TamaDudeNJ had 'Platinum Fade' finish?

I remember that one too, which is the only time I have seen the finish. It did have gold hardware. Wish I'd saved a pic now :)
