Anyone here ever own (or even see) a Beatstar kit? I've only seen them in the 1986 Catalog.
After a 28 year hiatus, I'm playing again with the same mongrel set I used in the 80's

Cheap Snare, Rogers Power Tone bass,
1983 Superstar Xtras
9x10, 11x12, 13x14
A very modest kit, but I love the way they sound.

Such a vague description in the catalog, who knows where it was supposed to be positioned.

Even stranger is the Van Halen like Imagestars in 1984, based on Swingstar apparently.

Thanks for that ohlarikd! I had overlooked the Swingstar-based Imagestar line (VERY Van Halen) but have now added it to the graphic.

It will show up when I've made enough changes to bother re-posting it in the Hierarchy thread.

Let's not forget about these rare badged Tama drums. This photo was given to me by another member some time ago.
I believe he lives in Brazil. He had a post inquiring about the badge. I have never seen these catalogued in US or Japan.

Nice. Let's all sit around the campfire and watch Photobucket decay into nothing because they're now charging a fee for simple photo storage.

By the way, if you buy a Google Pixel smartphone, all the images you take with it are stored for free on Google's servers. I don't know if they allow hot-linking, but it's worth checking out. I also don't know what the length of the agreement is (e.g., if you switch to an iPhone, do they delete all your pics?)

I don't think Google has a hot-linking feature. Been trying to figure that out for some time now...anytime I "copy the image location" and insert it here, it never works, just like using FB pics in here. Think

Yeah, it's like iCloud or any other general online storage function. It's a drag, but I understand. A super-popular image, such as Yogi shredding behind his kit while wearing a white suit, would keep the image server busy for months. But something like the image below, linked from my web site, will see only a few dozen links/downloads in its entire digital existence.

FYI, my web site is hosted on a Unix server and I can specify which other web sites can link to my images. It's easy, convenient and only costs $4 per month (and that's for the entire site, including email server and online storage).

Paiste PST-X FTW!!
