Latest view of my Vintage Black Oyster SC B/B 26/13/16/18"! The main snare is an Acrylic Volumedrums (Italian Brand) for the moment, but you can already see a Tama SP1455 The Gladiator (Simon Phillips signature) laying on the carpet which will join the kit after some polishing :).

Note about the 18": Since my SC is a limited edition, there was no way I could find a 18" floor tom in the same finish. But I was lucky enough to find, in order: a SC B/B Red Sparkle 18" floor tom more or less the same age as my kit, the very same wrap used on my kit, transparent contact adhesive, and finally a person who could put the 3 together!

I noticed a photo with a new color scheme in a photo on Tama's web site. When I clicked, it sent me to Facebook and then it dawned on me. We Tama Forum members are chicken feed compared to the attention Tama gets at Facebook. Lotsa fanboys there, that's for sure. This comment thread was four pages/screens long, and as you can see, has 94 "shares". I'll make a safe bet that the Tama marketing team spends too much time monitoring their Facebook page. When we here squabble over decals and the cost of birch drums, it's like a gnat compared to what's happening on "The Book".

This was the picture thread, right? Here is the latest pics of my B/B.

The 14" rack tom is new, and everyone must buy one. It is awesome to have. I hated the 14" floor tom, sold it. I just couldn't get used to it sitting where it was. But this NEW setup is just a blast to play and mess around with.

The 14" is mis-colored, but Tama is making me a new one, due in November. Still has original heads and tag for the swap.

Speaking of heads, wow I am not that accurate. I will blame the neighborhood kids who bang on it relentlessly. Yep, must be the kids...

Lazy Sunday ... Rain on the way... So took a run over to my go to music store. Got a nice discount on some Evans clear G2 packs (10,12,14) that are level 360, just not labeled as such. They weren't selling because of the missing logo. (I compared the collar and did my usual tap test just to be sure)

Swapped out the coated G2 on my white silk BB. There's just something so yummy about seeing that dark beautiful oiled bubinga wood against the white that makes me grin. Happy

I was very pleased with the way the pics of the maple reserve kit turned out so this will be the next one I take out for some nice shots

Agreed! I love the oiled / stained wood. Also I reason I never like the Maples. I like the look of the Silverstars versus the Superstar Classic because of the interior stain and on the hoops.

I just received this kit today, after a 2 year break from playing. As usual, Tama has exceeded all of my expectations. The B/B kits are the greatest value in drums IMO.

Oh, one more thing, Tama does an EXCEPTIONAL job when packing their kits. Some of the other manufacturers should take note.

Anyhooo, here's a pic:
